Several monasteries own yeti skulls; one has a supposed yeti hand on display. Noted mountaineer Eric Shipton snapped clear photographs of strange tracks during the 1951 reconnaissance of Everest; in 1960 Edmund Hillary launched an expedition to hunt for the creature. So far, though, no signs of a yeti den (chang) have been reported (chang is also a notorious Sherpa beer that is especially powerful at high altitudes).
